Dr. Meghan Martyna grew up in St. Albert, Alberta. She attended undergraduate courses at Augustana Campus of the University of Alberta before achieving her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science. Dr. Martyna worked in Edmonton after graduation and moved to Wainwright in 2014.
“I love the close-knit feel of the community in Wainwright and its surrounding areas. At Prairie Vision, we work to foster that community feeling while still providing ‘big city’ comprehensive eye care with innovative technology,” Dr. Martyna said. “Wainwright is a great place to work, and I look forward to raising children here as my family grows.”
Dr. Martyna is happy to see all patients, including patients with dry eye, glaucoma, diabetes, or cataracts. She is also interested in working with children or patients with head injuries who could benefit from vision therapy and visual rehabilitation.
Dr. Martyna has taken additional courses in these areas to broaden her knowledge and experience. She strives to continue learning the newest practices in optometry so she can always provide the best care she can to her patients.
When Dr. Martyna is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends—all the better if that combines the occasional pick-up basketball, curling, and volleyball games. Dr. Martyna’s favourite eyewear line is WOOW.
